From the Auction House show a few weeks ago, here’s my cover of Beck’s Cut in Half Blues:

Playing this Friday the 13th @ The Auction House
This Friday I’m opening up for Audizen and the Atomic Square this Friday at Audubon’s Auction House Loft. I’ll be playing at 8:00PM and doors open at 7:30. Also, the Atomic Square is now one of my favorite bands ever for making this AWESOME FLYER:

Weezer Night at the Auction House
Audubon’s Auction House continued on with their Themed Thursdays, where one Thursday of the month is devoted to local musicians playing songs with a common theme. This month it was Weezer, and I hobbled together a cover of Say it Ain’t So. In learning the full song I realized half the lyrics I thought I knew were wrong. I though it was, “Somebody’s hiding, down in my icebox” instead of “Somebody’s Heinie is crowding my icebox.” Sometimes the actual lyrics are stranger than you thought they were.
I was glad to hear Jeff Bruckner’s profanity infused cover of Jamie, which can be found on DGC Rarities. It’s a great compilation, but I’ll warn you: It contains Eggman on the Beach by Counting Crows. You’ve been warned!
John Shaughnessy also made it out to play a nice cover of Perfect Situation.

Believe it or not
I played at the Auction House a few weeks ago at their themed Thursday event. The theme was TV Show theme songs and someone put me up on YouTube!
Auction House
I’m really sorry I bailed out of the Auction House gig at the last minute.? I got tied up at work and wasn’t able to make it out.? I will be playing at their next theme night on April 17th and the theme is TV theme songs.

Open Mic @ The Auction House
It took me a few months, but I finally made it out to the new open mic that is literally about 2 blocks from my house.? Audubon’s Auction House on Merchant Street now has a weekly open mic night on Wednesdays hosted by Russ.? There were about 50 people there!
I ended up going on 2nd to last, but I got to see some good acts.? Jerry Thompson is one of my new favorites.? He writes interesting songs that don’t fit into traditional categories or fall into the typical trappings of folk music.? I also loved a song written by another performer about selling his soul to the devil for pop tarts.? I can’t remember his name though!? Does anyone know it?
