Open Mic Recap @ The Living Room

Monday night open mics at the Living Room have been officially canceled and from the looks of it Wednesday nights are on life support. There wasn’t a huge shortage of performers, as Jason Wheatley, Roz King, Vinnie and a father and son duo all came out to play, but an unusually low number of people hanging out made it a quiet night. I hadn’t heard Jason in a while and he played some new material I liked. He has another gig at the Living Room on the 21st of February. I also just received news that Adrien Reju is playing what I believe is her first gig at the Grape Street Pub on February 13th at 8:30PM.

Last night I went through a four song set of “The Genius of it All,” my new cover of the Pixies’s “Mr. Grieves,” “Why Now Satan?” and for what felt like the first time in a while, “I Hope I Die On the Moon.”

If you check out the new “Elsewhere” box in the lower left side of this page you’ll see a news feed from one of my favorite sites, BoingBoing.net. This RSS feed updates every two hours and there is no reason why your feed can’t be in there, too. If anyone is interested in having me syndicate their news this way, contact me. RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication,” and you can learn more about it here or if you already know all about RSS and want to syndicate this site, use my RSS file.

As usual, I’ll leave you with a cool site to visit: The Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum
