Last Thursday I stopped by the Caribbean Crab in Oaklyn. Justin Taylor hosts their new open mic over there and I played a few songs. Someone who was there the previous week requested “99%,” so I played that along with “The Genius of it All,” Johnny Cash’s “Big River,” and “I’m a Lesbian Trapped in a Man’s Body.”
Some guy jammed with Justin for a while on the didgeridoo. Luckily I got out of there right before Justin started breaking out the Hootie covers.
One thing I hated about the old Crab open mic was the expensive beers. It’s a Wednesday night in Oaklyn. You shouldn’t have to pay $3.75 for a drink. Luckily, Spam from Do It For Danny is the bartender and he got them to put in a special for $2 Miller Light bottles.

Not in a crusty South Jersey seafood restaurant.
I was just informed of my typo.
