Spew Update Posted

The new version of Spew is now available for downloading.

Try it out and let me know if you encounter any bugs!

These are the changes from the last version:

0.1.3 Changes
* Totally reworked the layout so it looks better
* Blocks are now different colors
* Rotation now changes direction once and a while
* FINALLY fixed the bug that caused pieces to fall faster while rotating. I was rounding up somewhere where I should have been rounding down.
* Added messages for doubles, triples, and quads.
* Game board shrinks for 800 x 600. Looks good in higher resolutions.
* Added cool ending
* Add configurable XML file for setting skill level names, piece adjectives, keyboard controls, and piece colors.
* Add score and save the top ten scores

  1. I found a bug: THE WHOLE SCREEN ROTATES AND PULSATES LIKE THE GATES OF HELL WHILE A WILLY WONKA MELANGE OF BEN GARVEY PHOTOS ASSAULT MY MIND LIKE THE PSYCHOSIS CHAMBER IN THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL!

    Just kidding. Now I’m going to throw up.

  2. So the game doesn’t work if you try to tell it that you want the controls to be assigned to numbers, like “4” or “5”. I don’t know how PERL interprets the numbers on the numberpad when NUMLOCK is on, so I’m not sure if the raw numbers are what I’m supposed to be using.

  3. The settings window also doesn’t go away when I click “Close”, and spawns a new window whenever I click “Save Changes”.

  4. I found another bug where the score and level indicators get messed up if you start a new game. I’ll have to fix that.
