Oaklyn Massacre Averted?

Updates may be sparse this week since I’m moving, and just in the nick of time! I’ll also be out of town for a while, but I’ll still be here for this week’s open mic at the Tree House.

What is up with the Oaklyn kids who planned and almost went on a local killing spree? I’ve always complained Oaklyn has more cops per square inch than most prisons, but I’ll admit the officer did a nice job in getting the kids to give themselves up. That guy should get a freakin promotion today. I’d like to say the kids never really wanted to go through with it, but they were already out on the street with the guns and ammo. I’m definitely glad they waited until Sunday since I was hanging out at the Oaklyn Manor Bar on Thursday night, which is about 2 blocks from where they were arrested.

If you want to read one of the dozens of news articles on the event, check these out.

  1. i would see that kid around in school and I contemplated going up to him and talking because he always looked so sad and he was picked on all the time and I feel ashamed to be part of the collingswood high school society

  2. I was wondering if you knew any of them.

Every school has the same problem. There is no excuse for what they planned to do, and I’m just glad they never went through with it. Being nice to someone labeled as an outcast is hard to do, but it’s good for you as a person. Who hasn’t been an outcast at some point in their life? If you haven’t you’re lucky.
