So the Tree House Coffee open mic finally opened this week. It was the first time I’ve been in the place and it looks great. Somehow they made it feel a lot bigger and less cluttered and their new sound system makes everyone sound better.
There is a rumor floating around that I may take over the hosting duties at this open mic in a few weeks. It’s true! In 2-3 weeks I’ll be hosting the Tree House’s Wednesday night open mics and I have a lot of things planned, so keep reading this site (but not this site).
Roz King, Jason Wheatley, John Shaughnessy, Willie Tapps, U Maryland’s Cathy, and purple haired Sarah Allen all showed support by playing the reopening mic. I played “99%,” “The Genius of it All,” and “I Hope I Die on the Moon,” which would have been fine if I hadn’t broken a string 9/10ths into my last song.
