Sometimes tasks pile up and it’s overwhelming. Work, school, and family all throw things at you at the same time. You feel helpless. It’s unfair this all happened at once and your stress level elevates.
I pull myself out with a method I call raking leaves.
The leaves in your yard are yours to rake. They just are. It’s not your fault. It’s not your neighbors’ fault, even if their trees dropped leaves into your yard. That’s what trees do. Some of your leaves probably blew into someone else’s yard.
Treat your tasks like leaves and pretend you’re not personally connected to them. They’re just leaves and they’re yours to do. You don’t blame them.
You do them. And then they’re gone.
